US Congress has an MS Caucus

This is from last March but I found out about it only just now. The US Congress has an MS Caucus. This sounds like a good thing. One wonders what it has been doing. If you click on the link and look at the article, it includes a link to some MS Society information about it but it's not very specific. Lots of Senators and Representatives are listed as members.

I don't know what they're doing, but according to the NMSS, this is what they do.

    • Speak at or attend informative briefings on MS

    • Receive regular e-mail updates on issues of importance to those with MS

    • Raise awareness and promote education about MS in our efforts to move closer to a world free of MS

    • Participate in local MS events

    • Network with others who would like to move closer to a world free of MS

Personally, I can't get enough of it.

Can't get enough of MS? It really is the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?

If MS is a gift, then I guess I'm too nice. I'll have to work on my naughtiness. Santa can go pick on someone else.

There hasn't been any news of her that I know of in several years. I wonder how she's doing.

Ann Romney seems to be doing quite well, actually.

I didn’t know she had breast cancer also. What bad luck.

Ikoiko, breast cancer was not nearly as devastating a diagnosis as MS was, at least for me. I have always said, since having breast cancer, that cancer can certainly kill, but MS can also take your life and leave you here. That sometime can be the worst thing that happens. I know there are those who would argue this point of view, but it was how I felt. It was shocking when I got the cancer diagnosis, but the MS diagnosis just devastated me.

ETA: I am so glad Ann Romney is still doing well. I bought and read her book when it came out. I like the Romneys.

Seems odd but maybe it would raise eyebrows if he was in a caucus on behalf of a disorder his wife has, particularly since she founded the Ann Romney MS Center which is in MA, and one of the two people in charge of the MS caucus is in MA. I'm just guessing but have noticed that people in the political world are very careful about getting involved in anything that could be misinterpreted.

Very odd that neither of my state's Senators has signed up for the MS Caucus, and neither has my Representative.
