The diagnostic process isn't easy, and if you have no reason to believe your doctor isn't competent, why not trust your doctor to know what tests are needed? It probably would help if you do some research on your doctor and the institution he/she is affiliated with. The ratings and reviews can be very helpful. SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) since December 2020.
