    Plumbing

This morning I went into the bathroom and the toilet was running. I used it and tried to flush - no luck. I tried jiggling everything inside and it stopped! So I tried to flush again and it's still running. I can't stop it. I tried to turn that faucet (?) thing to turn off the water and it would not turn even with pliers. I called a plumber and they are too busy to do repair -- one is coming sometime today to just turn off water and make appointment for next week. Oh, good grief. Thank goodness I have another bathroom!

Hope you can get this fixed easily. Plumbing problems can be such a major annoyance--not to mention expense. The shutoff valve should work to shut off the water. You know the "Leftie-loosie--rightie--tightie" rule, right?

I've decided that heaven is a place where the plumbing always works right.

Hi agate -- the shutoff valve SHOULD work. but I couldn't turn it even with pliers. Then the plumber had to use pliers!! But he fixed the problem with a new valve and that's all it needed so there will be no return trip. Bless his heart. And he didn't charge me for an emergency trip.

What a plum decent plumber! Yes, those valves do get stuck sometimes. If he put a new one in, you shouldn't have that problem again but let's hope you won't need to turn the water off again soon.
