Has anyone used the medication belbuca? My doctor at the VA wants to switch me to it and I'm a bit hesitant. I have several conditions that cause chronic pain. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Based on that information, I would want to avoid taking this drug if at all possible. It can slow breathing, and as the article says, "death may occur." There are too many warnings in that article.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) since December 2020.

I reported to my doctor all the side effects I'm having and although she's willing to put me back on my fentanyl the pain specialists aren't. I had always thought that my quality of life was determined by me but apparently not. So if there's any vets who are presently on opioid therapy and your doctor suggests that you try this new medication tell them no unless you honestly don't want to be on fentanyl or another opioid. I feel so betrayed. What quality of life I had has been destroyed with this new medication. It's not doing anything for my pain and my mouth tastes like crap all the time and I'm throwing up in addition to other side effects. The pain specialist just went up the dose. So much for the VA being for the vets.
