    Default Unwanted emoticon

I have a little square that appears when I move the cursor in and out of the text typing box. I accidently did click on it and it showed up as a robot on the typing line. It kinda scared me and I deleted my message without posting it. It seems to only show up on BT. I have run several scans and don't seem to have any issues.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Hello Gary!

Let me ask you some questions and we'll see if we can figure this out.

Which browser are you using? What is your pc's operating system?
Does it happen in "Post Quick Reply", "Go Advanced" or both?
What features are you using on BT? RSS feed? Calendar? etc.
Type a message here and if you see the robot, post it anyway. We can destroy evidence here .

I'm thinking of something like a spell-check running in the background. I'm sure Mike will have some ideas or know if it is something on BT.

You could also go to the "Control Panel" of your pc, find and click on "Programs and Features" and see if anything is installed there that doesn't look right, maybe something around the time you noticed this emoticon at BT.

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people whose posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Odd, if it's still happening try to get a screen shot and post it so I can better understand what's going on.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Sorry it took so long to reply.

Yes I just posted in the M.S. forum and it was still there. Now for what ever reason. It does not show up on this forum. I will go and poke around the control panel and let you know.

    Thanks!

A bit odd that it's only showing on one (or more?) of our forums. If you can get a screen shot or a video of it in action that would help narrow down the possible culprits.
