    Lightbulb Blogs are now live

    Greetings everyone

A new tab has been enabled across the top of each paged called "Blogs". This whole blog thing is new to quite a lot of people, shoot even I don't know that much about it. So this thread is for all discussion pertaining to blogs, likes, dislikes, wants, questions, etc, etc,. Speak up about blogs, share your opinion because I left my mind reading cap on the bus

Here is a link to the generic FAQ about blogs for vBulletin, http://www.braintalkcommunities.org/...faq=vbblog_faq
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

I'm pretty dense. Guess I don't understand whether a person can start a new blog here or provide links to an existing blog. And does the content of the blogs need to be related to the topics on these boards--neurological disorders?

    Cool

Don't feel bad Agate. I've heard the word blog, like saying it, but don't really know what it is. I understand the difference between a post, and a reply, but that's all I need to understand to make this my favorite site to go to.

I've heard it originated from "weblog" which someone divided into two words: "we blog." Don't know if that's true or not.

What they look like to me is someone talking about himself. Some will allow others to respond, some won't. It's basically an online diary from what I can tell. I'm not especially interested, FWIW.

:) I'm with Howie. I am barely able to use the computer and my knowledge leaves a lot unused. I'm ok with sending and receiving emails and posting on this board and one other. I don't wish to do anything more. Jeanie :)

    Default About my blogs.

I have a blog, it is full of lots of things. I use it to store online recipes, and craft patterns (knit and crochet), then there are the ones where I would grouse about the lack of help when I broke the middle finger of my left hand, caused by my cane when I was out walking in 2009. Another one was about when I fractured my left fibula when I fell down the last 3 stairs in the townhouse apartment I was living in, in 2011. There was another one about my divorce from my second husband that took 2 years to complete, from February 2010- May 2012.

I used to keep written journals, starting when I was in middle school, to beyond high school. Writing helps me deal with my stress. I even have a different blog on a different blog site, where I have been writing about my life with MS, as best as I can remember.

As my MS progressed, my hand writing got worse. I can type by touch and I have a printer if I need something written on paper.

Hi Everyone, Well, I'm a blogger and I just posted an entry on the blog page. I usually post on Child Neuro (I"m an oldie over there). Thanks Mike and everyone at Braintalk!

I'm starting to catch on. I'm glad Donna Thomson was courageous enough to try some blog posts, and now maybe others will give it a try?

I sometimes would like to know more about somebody who posts, and the Profile doesn't usually give much additional information. Even reading over previous posts doesn't always help that much.

If some people had easily accessible blog posts here, that should help us to get to know one another better. Difficult on the Internet but a blog is one avenue.

You can play around with your blog's appearance--its colors and fonts--too.

I intend to see what I can come up with when I have more time.

Jendie, I hope you'll decide to share your blog posts!

So that's all there is to Howie. Why am I not surprised?

All along it's been clear that Howie consists mainly of a thong, and the rest is sort of--well, spongiform, as they say in some circles.
