    Strange Seizure

    Hi Folks,
I hope all has been well with everyone. Today wasn't the best way to get ready for work for me. I was showering when the next thing I know I find myself on the shower floor and my body was shaking. I don't remember falling to the floor but
after the fall I was conscience and I could feel my body shake and I tried to talk but it was hard. What bothered me the most is when I tried to get up I couldn't. It reminded me of my aunt who had MS and when she would try to walk she couldn't
move. I usually have complex partial or absence sz. but I never had a sz. like this in the 41 yrs. I've had epilepsy. Do think this was a complex partial or possibly a tonic clonic (grand mal) sz. or maybe some other type of sz.? I would greatly appreciate
any info. and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!

You might want to have a glucose tolerance test.

It sounds suspiciously like low glucose blood levels to me!

      Howdy Dave,
Thanks! I never thought about that. I know I was feeling fine before the sz. happened and I haven't been sick so I think I will look into this. I will be headed up your way this Friday and will mention this.
Thanks again and May God Bless You!

          Hi Joy,

Thanks for your support. I have a feeling I had an atonic sz. also known as a drop sz. I will be having a sleep study done on Friday and my Epi is also a sleep specialist who thinks I may have sleep apnea and this in
turn could explain why I had this type of sz. Plus the Epi is also looking for the possibility of heart disease since it runs in my family, that could also connect to the reason why I had the strange sz. Here's wishing you
well and May God Bless You!

            Howdy Sue!

I had undiagnosed sleep apnea for decades.
Then they gave me a CPAP machine...

It's amazing how the frequency of my seizures decreased once I started getting a full night's sleep!

              Howdy Dave,
Let's hope that there won't be anything serious with the sleep apnea,my brother has heart problems do to this and I sure don't want that to happen. I will be headed your way today (Friday) afternoon to have the test done
I just hope the windy weather calms down. The winds are supposed to be 60 mph and with my luck the power will go out. Here's wishing you well and I'm glad to hear that the sleep study reduced your sz. May God Bless You!

It sounds like an atonic followed by a Clonic-Tonic to me. I have a hard time getting up off the floor.

                  Hi Linnie,

I found out it was a atonic sz. followed by a complex partial sz. and I have a feeling that it is all related to a sleep disorder I may have. I will have the results in a few days to be sure. Thanks for your info. I wish you the best and May God
                  Bless You!

                    ((((((Sue))))))

I'm so sorry that you had this seizure, but I'm glad for you that it has been diagnosed and associated with your sleep disorder. Those are answers, and, as you know, we often don't get them. Now, I hope for you that the sleep disorder will be addressed and treated, which will result in better sleep and no more seizures.

                    Prayers going up for you!

                    Love & Light,

                      Hi Rose,

Thanks for your support. My Dr. hasn't supported the bad sz. as a sleep disorder yet but I should be getting the test results back in a week or two. I just hope they don't put me on more med because after taking
meds for 41 yrs. I wonder what it had done to my body. I know it had made me look a lot older than my age but I can't do anything about that.
I wish you only the best and May God Bless You!
