    Default Medicare in 2014

    A tidbit came my way that told me tha the monthly premium will go up to $247.00 a month which totally destroys my world.

    The short answer: No, it’s not. For starters, 2012 Medicare Part B premiums are $99.90 for individuals with income of up to $85,000 or married couples with income up to $170,000. The premiums go up on a sliding scale for Medicare beneficiaries with higher incomes. - from a Wall Street Journal blog.

    Yes, that is the one. Read the whole thing. It starts with this and ends w my quote above:

    "Two readers contacted us this week wanting to know if this is true:

    The per person Medicare insurance premium will increase from the present monthly fee of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2012, $120.20 in 2013 AND $247.00 IN 2014.

    These are the Provisions incorporated in the Obamacare Legislation, purposely delayed so as not to confuse the 2012 Re-election Campaign.
