So glad that things are moving forward. But take care of yourself too.

It only got up to 82 deg today! It will return to the 90's over the next couple of days. But at least even with a short break you can remember what cool weather is like.

I am doing okay. If I could hit the lottey I would be even better.

Virginia good to see you posting.

We had our first official case of West Nile in our county the person was in his early 50's and required hospitalization. Dr mentioned to me to be careful as it could be fatal for me considering all the other stuff I have going on. Like being on a ventilator. Daughter who works in intensive care said that there are varying degrees and unless you need assisted breathing. It is supportive care.

Jeanie so glad they are trying to do something for David. I think it is really good that they were able to hit them all. That was really a long time for you to just sit on your scooter. I know you are willing to do anything you are able to do to help. Thanks for letting us know what is going on.

Gary, even your Doctor knows you have to be watched like a hawk or you will get in trouble. He feels he has to warn you about West Nile because you just can't seem to keep out of trouble.

Don't you hate it when people tell you to stay out of trouble.
    Where's the fun in that???

    Jeanie,
So glad the local docs are taking charge and caring for David. Praying for successful treatment and quality of life.

Going back to Upstate NY in 2 weeks to take dad back to the Oncologist. He is voicing that he is not feeling like he,,,his voice...is not being heard. My specialty!!!! I have promised him I will teach him how to make that happen and will be there for his second Oncology treatment /visit. It'll be a thousand miles over a 4 day period while working remotely for my other job at David's office. I am feeling stretched but not anxious or concerned about any of the details of each day being lost or cramped by other important things. Mother still needs a specialized diet created for her and Heather and I are doing that. Dad is beginning to realize that maybe his sugar consumption and red meat reliance may be feeding the cancer race to the finish so we are coming all to the same page.

I will leave again on Friday the 7th and return after the Oncologist visit on the 11th to drive the 400 miles home. This is a time of healing and circling the wagons for our family and David is wonderful to not only let it happen but to enourage it. I am so blessed to have this husband and support system

Cherie and Jeanie, you both have so much on your plate--you're both examples for those of us who feel we're not up to one more problem.

Gary, renee, and everybody else--everyone here is a marvel at coping. And Peg having to be in the MRI tube for 4 hours! I hope you got a few breaks.

There's no way I could lie there for 4 hours.

As for staying out of trouble, my advice is: Be good, and if you can't be good, be careful. And if you can't be careful, don't get caught.

    Hi Folks,

Been having trouble walking and with my right arm. Tues woke up with vision half gone in my left eye. Scary. Went to the Dr and my BP was 190/115 they gave me an IV in the office with some meds and today I am on day 2 of IVSM so far so good. Takes a few days to see an improvement. Due to the fact that I have had problems I am doing it in the infusion center and not at home. But it is better than as an inpatient

Still in the 90's at least for the next couple of days And it is holding the smoke from the fires in the valley. They are saying that it is possible the air may not clear until the end of September. And some of the back area brush fires will not e fully controlled until the snow flies.

Hope Issac is not causing anyone problems.

    Later gators,

Gary, I do hate that you are having all these problems. Seems you don't get over one set before more begin. I hope the IVSM does the trick. I was sorry you had to take it again, but glad it is there when you need it.

    Keep us posted.

:) Hi everyone. Gary I hope you feel better soon. Cherie have a safe trip. Good luck with the MRI Peg.

We got 16 inched of rain in about 2 hours from Isaac. Many areas are still two and three feet deep. The people in those areas cannot even get out to the supply stations the Red Cross and Salvation Army have set up. Many are on wells and septic tanks and all is contaminated. Boats and swamp buggies are delivering the supplies to those stranded.

We have a large Polo community and all the horses out there are standing in water. They are being sent to Boca Raton where it is dry. Many people are in shelters and many homes have a lot of water inside.

Isaac stayed in the Gulf of Mexico but the feeder rain bands hit us heavy. The pump system is going full blast but it is slow to recede.

Our toilet would not flush for a day but is okay now. Many have no electric here too but not us thankfully.

David sees the oncologist on Wednesday and will probably start the chemo drug Nexavar then. Jeanie :)
