One of the biggest problems is that our federal gov't is too bloated and over rides the 10th amendment. States need to have their power and not dominated so much by the federal gov't.

MMJ and Medicaid. The Veterns Admin allows it Narcs and with your doc's consent THC is not a violation of your pain contract Under-secratary or secratary pretzal(sp) has said so - i have it in writing. I have tried to talk with Arizona dept. of heath services - got dancesd around - still no answer. Will be joining ACLU when I have the donation of $5.00 - reasonable - also will be tweeting, have all e-mails Almost ready to go to the newspaper, I know a few people, Believe I can get something published. It's not right that people with private doc's (usually rich) can get relief and I can't - I wil not go near it until I can legally do so, VA makes Federal law moot, IMHO, good for one, good for all. will be tweeting, blogging, and generally being a pain until I get an answer and the law changed. One of the very few benifits(if you call it that) is that I have time... I try to do community service so i am not cooped up but am VERY linited in what I can do but I believe every little bit helps. The Gov't say MMJ has no medical value, then why is Marinol (Drobinol)(Syntheic THC) legal , and a class 3 at that. I have tried 8-10 A/D's - back before when I was depressed, MJ helped. now, Doc says - mke a choice. What a bunch of BS.
    Thanks for letting me vent.
IF you are in a state where it is legal for Med.use - I do NOT advocate rec.use - PLEASE make a fuss - we now have about 25 states on board one way or another - It will happen - If you disagree, fine, that is your right.
Hope this finds everyone as pain free as possible

Alex, before I get started just understand many of us with private insurance are not rich unless you are talking about a different group. Even though I am a conservative on most topics I think our MMJ laws are a mess. It was the gov't back when they were putting out Reefer Madness that they turned most people against hemp and didn't realize benefits that the plant has. As a result of the propaganda there are still a big group opposed to any legalization for MMJ as they see it as a gateway drug. I used to bounce at a college bar will going to college and I saw the effects that alcohol can bring. I have been opposed to MMJ for a long time but as the medical uses have come up and I look at the numbers clogging up our prison system I have changed my position because I don't see it as any more harmful, less in many ways, than alcohol. Like you I appreciate that people have different ideas I just think if MMJ were legal we wouldn't see society decline but improve. I also think if society doesn't want recreational use then we need a system that allows medical use.

Alex, have you ever tried Marinol? If so, did it help you?

I'm just curious. Maybe it would be a way for you to get something that helps you via a prescription. Do you know if your pain doctor would prescribe it to you?

    Just trying to help.

Thank you Eva - No, I have not tried Marinol, even though it is now a class 3 - I also understand it is used widely by the Military in Germany, and such, but that is just from the grapevine, Who knows? I DO know that Medicaid in AZ. will not cover it - not in the formulary and I don't think it's a cheap med either. My doc is Cool but she said it's not in the Formulary for my Ins. , that and the fact that It is a grou[ practice, One where the medical director calls the shots, Esp. on something like that. Hope you are having better luck with your Rx issues.
    Blessings

Alex, I didn't see it as disrespect but wanted to make sure what you were saying. I have often thought what shape I would be in if I got the care professional athletes get. I think I have had great results with surgery and a great OSS but if I had the time and access to all the PT, massage, ad other treatments would I be in better shape now. I will never know and I doubt there would be much that would be different for me.
