Trileptal Oxcarbazepine Generic company owned by Novartis Sandoz Pharmaceuticals

I have found at least One Big Pharma who owns a generic company. I do not know whether the formulations are the same.

Trileptal is a brand name sold by Novartis .
The generic of Trileptal is Oxcarbazepine.
Novartis owns a generic manufacturer, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals , which is headquartered in Europe, with offices in New Jersey.
    Sandoz Pharmaceuticals makes Oxcarbazepine.

You never know whether the formulations are the same in any generic.

I am currently taking Oxcarbazepine and generic Keppra (Levetiracetam.)

Thank you Linnie for the information on the other companies. That is an interesting website. Dave, what manufacturer produces the generic Levetiracetam you are taking that is doing well for you? Because there are so many companies making it, it would be good to know which ones quality may be good enough so I will know what to select if I switch over to generic. I will have to start buying it since my unemployment income is greater than the Keppra assistance plan allows, and I also have a job that will probably give me too much income. I have no insurance. I'd like to know w safe generic. Share the company with us. Thanks, Tattoo

          Howdy Tattoo!

If I'm reading my pill bottles correctly:
My Levetiracetam is made by Lupin Pharmacuticals
My Oxcarbazepine is made by Glenmark Pharmacuticals.

Just because these generics work for me, that doesn't necessarily mean that they will work for you.

I get them from Rite Aid.
Different drug stores may use different suppliers for generics.
Some may even go with the best deal that they can get at the time that they need to restock.
I wouldn't count on my generic always being made by the same company, even though I get it from the same pharmacy.

            Maybe I should rephrase that...

The essential drug will probably be the same, but you never know about the additives contained in the pill.

That's why some doctors specify "As written"... just to make sure that you don't get a generic.

Both Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Lupin Pharmaceuticals are U.S. subsidaries of Indian companies.
