    I am glad Ralph is trying to keep in touch. I know he must be lonely and the weather is cold. I feel that he probably would want to be in contact with people who knew and cared about Ann.

    Please tell Ralph its nice to hear from him. He can expect to be in a blurry fog for at least 3 months. It will get better eventually, the fog, that is. ...

    Donít worry about not using Annís ability. Just tell the mourners how much you miss her and her ability to talk about things and feelings. But that you know love, and that you miss her, love her, and feel lost without her. That is plenty eloquent....They will see it in your face, your body, and the simplicity of stating your emotions will be meaningful.

    Surely others can contribute thoughts of how she impacted their lives and the world... to help you fill in those blanks.

    I prefer Audenís poem:

    ďStop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
    Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
    Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
    Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

    Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
    Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
    Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
    Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

    He was my North, my South, my East and West,
    My working week and my Sunday rest,
    My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
    I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

    The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
    Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
    Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
    For nothing now can ever come to any good.Ē

    I first heard it recited at a funeral by the deceased best friend/lover in Four Weddings and a Funeral. It moved me to tears.

    Maybe I should encourage him to take part in the MS forum? After all, there have been people here all along who weren't diagnosed with MS but who were interested enough to take part here--caregivers among them. I don't know if he would want to go through the maze of learning how to get onto a message board but at least we could let him know he's welcome here.

    What do people here think? Please send a PM if you don't want to share your opinions here.

    I think it is a good idea Agate. Just let him know he is welcome, but without pressure.

    I think he would just read more than anything. He says he is not good on the computer so he might be uncomfortable, and it might be hard for him to get around.

    Sunshine, that poem brought tears to my eyes.

    Thank you, agate, for sharing Ralph's communications with you. My heart goes out to him, as he struggles without Ann.

    I'm sure that you are letting him know how much we miss her, and how special she is to all of her friends here. Perhaps it would help him to join BT and come here for our support, which I know he'd receive. As Virginia said, you can let him know that he would be welcomed with open arms, if he chose to join. Maybe you could also offer him guidance in how to join, which might make it easier for him, if he feels insecure about attempting it.

    Ralph remains in my prayers.

    I'll mention that to him--though he seems hesitant about anything having to do with computers or the Internet.

    It isn't so very difficult here once you register here, though.

    I've been here for 19 1/2 years and Cat Dancer was here when I came. She was Uppity Cat for awhile.
    Yes! I remember too.
