    Default Happy New Year

Anyone doing something exciting tonight? I wish you fun and joy.

As usual, I'm at home with the cats. I just went to a really good grocery to get some of their fantastic fried chicken....phooey, they were sold out so I'll have to find something here.

Sorry about the fried chicken, Jingle.

We are also home with the cats. It’s what we prefer.

    Happy New Year!

I hope you've found something delectable to replace the fried chicken.

Last night I didn't find anything exciting or special to eat ...... so this morning I woke up hungry and, of all things, I thought about sauerkraut! Sauerkraut with pork chops and mashed potatoes. Thank goodness I had pork chops in the freezer, a can of 'kraut and a nice bag of potatoes in the cupboard. When I had chops thawed I made myself a really good meal. It was so good I ate some of the leftovers for dinner!

That’s my mom’s New Year’s meal, Jingle, and she put caraway seeds in the kraut.

I put bacon grease in mine. Most vegetables get a glob of bacon grease.
Speaking of vegetables ... I have the ingredients for a super broccoli salad in the 'fridge. I hope I can force myself to make that today.
