Well, I looked up loratadine (AKA Claritin or Alavert) and found that it has several other names--one of them being Tavist ND. So maybe I've already been taking Tavist. But the ingredient is loratadine, not diphenydramine hydrochloride.

Dr. Howie, is it possible that Tavist ND = Tavist Non-Drowsy?

It's very possible, that's a totally different ingredient. I'm going to get some payday.

I seem to suffer with allergies all the time. The other OTCs that I have taken just have not agreed with me, so I am taking nothing. Maybe I can take this one.

    Thanks for the info.

I have allergies too though most of the time they seem to be under control lately. I've never been treated for them except to have decongestants and antihistamines prescribed over the years. Sinusitis and bronchitis that were undoubtedly related to allergies have been another story. I've had quite a few unpleasant infections.

The experts haven't given up on the idea that MS might be allergy-related although some people with MS say they don't have allergies.

I went to the store today, and remembered the Travist, but didn't see any. I should have asked for help, and will the next time.

Tavist, not Travist. The generic is Clemastine. Maybe they don't carry the brand name anymore?

I had it spelled right on my shopping list, just spelled it wrong here. I saw several slots in the meds that were sold out. It may have been there earlier. Tuesday is restocking day, so I'll check then, and ask for help.

Howie, did you pick up Tavist?

Are you planning to substitute it for your nightly sleep-time antihistamine?
