I've often wondered just what people are supposed to do on weekends in situations like yours. Just not have a problem?

You'd think someone could be on call to take care of problems like that.

I'm afraid I haven't heard good things about those nursing home doctors. I've known people in nursing homes who've had no choice. They had to forget about seeing doctors who had known them for years and years and put up with a doc who didn't know them and seemed not to care much either.

I know your energy is limited but hope you can keep trying to get hold of someone. That doctor dropped the ball if you ask me. Even if you don't ask me, LOL.

I guess no placebo effect going on for you, Sally! So sorry there was a snafu.

Isn't there an on-call doc available to the staff to rx an interim additional anti-anxiety med for a couple days to help you through the weekend? They must care not to increase the state of distress of their patients and keep them as relaxed as possible.

Hang in there, ok? I'm sorry you're having to deal with this on top of everything else.

There are exceptions. My PCP also is a doc at a nursing home. He is amazing with his patients. That's how Infound him, he took care of my MIL when she was in the nursing home.

Sally, you could try calling the docs answering service to page him if you don't want to wait, ... Am very disappointed your being treated like this.

The way it worked when my dad was in a NH was that you had to go thru the nurse. Aides tell nurse and nurse calls doctor.

Like Ann, when I was looking after my Grandmother in the NH everything like that went through the nurse and she contacted the Doctor. Of course she did this only after I gave her such an "evil eye" I think she figured she had better. However, the weekends were a wash out as far as getting help.

It is one more day until Monday. That is one day too many. However, I am afraid all you can do is hang on. Also, it might be the nurses error and not the Doctor's. She might not have written it down.

    We're here Sally.

Yeah weekends are pretty much awash here here for getting any help too.
I hate it but what can I do. It's the way things are here.

    Thanks guys, you're the best!
