Thumbs up Research project to find out if flavonoids in chocolate help MS

People enrolled in this project will get hot chocolate daily for 6 weeks in this study sponsored by the UK MS Society.

Looks as if dark chocolate is the treatment of choice.

It's about time someone dreamed up something pleasant that's good for us, for those who are tired of giving themselves shots or going for infusions.

Of course everyone here already knows that chocolate is beneficial, but let them study it and even start prescribing it.

Ann, I'll bet you were behind this research. You've been trying to tell us all along.

It's in the UK so I guess we'll have to conduct our own study in the US!

    Cool

I just went to the store, and along with a tub of chocolate ice cream, I got 2 bags of the Tootsie Roll minis. Let's just test this new research!

I hereby officially volunteer to be a research subject! By the way, I prefer Dove chocolate, but I do love Almond Roca even though it is only chocolate covered . . . heck, I'll even eat chocolate covered raisens!
Okay, okay, I admit that I love ANY chocolate!

    Oh great, now I'm thinking chocolate . . .

Dark chocolate, with a 70% cocoa level, has been considered to have health benefits for several years:

    http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articl...chocolate.html

Unfortunately, your Snickers, Tootsie Rolls, Dove Bars, Musketeers, See's candy, etc. are probably not going to give you those benefits. Typically, these candies are made with milk chocolate and are loaded with sugar. Unless chocolate is labeled "70% cocoa," it doesn't contain enough flavonoids to be beneficial/healthy.

I'm sorry. I know you probably didn't want to hear that. I will go sit it the corner now.
