Party room- a place for fun, pity, commiserating, or any other thing you come up with

It took me a long time to get back on this site so I hope others find their way back soon. Our son leaves in two days for college and then we will have an empty nest. My doctor reduced my testosterone injections to once a month but I am really having a big reduction in energy so I think a blood test is coming up to see where my levels are now. I hate having lost days every other day or maybe two days between.
Hurry back everyone, I hope everyone is doing well.

    Hi Mark
Just popped on here quickly. Heading to sleep. Been on vacation in florida for the last 2 weeks...being way too lazy for my liking...lol Have one more week here. Tried BT a few times but we were down. Missed you all.

How are you holding up? Definetly need some bloodwork done!! Make sure tne dr does it. How is Tyrell doing? Is he excited? Are you and Penny feeling sad?

I missed several weeks on here so update me on whats been going on. I will try to check in more, typing on touchpads stink!!!

Things are ok....kids are well. Been dealing with too much arm stuff. Been having pins and needles on top left forearm and thimb. Now its spread to pointer finger, thumb, forearm and also upper arm. Its truly annoying and comes and goes throughout the day. No rhym or reason that i can find. Neuro said at last visit it was from carpel tunnel. Thats when it eas just the top of forearm and thumb. I doubt tbats it but what the hell do I know? Whatever it is, it is spreading & not all that comfy...so much fun!!! I dont think i want to be a spiney anymore....can someone tell me where this bus stops???? GGRRR!!!

Ok enough blubbering...i need some sleep. Very happy to see BT again. Night all!!

Brigitte, good to see you made over on the other side and made it back to the room. Sorry to hear that your arms are causing you more trouble. I had the problem last year and a NS said carpal tunnel but I knew it wasn't that as I haven't done anything to cause it while my cervical spine has enough going on to cause the symptoms. Stick to your guns as you know more than you think and certainly know your body better than the doctor.

Tyrel is ready to get out on his own although he hasn't gotten packed yet despite leaving early Friday morning. Penny is sad but I just view it as part of growing up. Tyrel and I have a relationship that will cover the miles and it will be nice to have an empty nest. It will be nice to get the house in shape the way Penny and I want.

Not much else going on as the site was down for about a week and it took me that long to get registered once again. Enjoy the rest of your vacation as you will have plenty of time to get busy once you come back home.

        Hello everyone,

Brigitte, sounds like you had a heavenly vacation; good for you hon. Also noticed in replying here all messages aren't included below like before, unless I pressed wrong 'reply'.........can't get my 'faces' to work either. All pages from BT come up w/errors on page. Take some fine tuning yet maybe.

Glad things going well for you too Mark. Two person house coming up very soon. Our temps have cooled off, hope they have for everyone else. Haven't seen the hawk for a few weeks, heard but not seen. It's growing up, not a baby anymore.

Hope everyone is well, stays well, gets well....talk again soon now that I've found home again.........geez, can't get smilies to work, nor does the 'more' work.......miss those little critters<G>LOL love to all, kat :)

I thought I would stop in and see if we had anyone new stop by but I guess it will be a slow process. We are working on getting my son packed for leaving tomorrow morning. Thankfully he is like his dad that he doesn't need much to be happy so there isn't a lot to do. I did get him a new spare tire and emergency kit for the trips back and forth. Penny has taken the day off to be around on his last day at home. We are just finishing up his laundry and then he needs to finish packing his clothes.

I just dozed a couple times last night so I am running on low today. I wish I could take a nap but I can't calm down enough to drop off to sleep, maybe later. Time to get back to the packing and checking the list off.

Ah all the messages are showing up now below....won't have to strain my brain so hard; still can't get smilies to work, still have errors on all pages.

Brig, sure hope your arms feel better, forgot to mention that last time here; Mark our mailings must of just crossed each others<G> Sounds like you're both enjoying packing up for Tyrel. Adventure time.

You mentioned sleep time.......I still do that at least once a week......a day gone. Except a day last week? I had a worse stroke, numbed right side; cleared up in about an hour. Never had it happen but had another one just as bad right after 1st one. Thought, ok God, I'm ready if it's my time.......but still here. I slept for next 2 days straight. Up once for bathroom but like in coma, couldn't wake me if you tried. SO just checked to see if I was breathing. Have had minis since but haven't slept a day away that I recall.

I've started hiding things......not on purpose. Brought in bag of groceries; always put them on counter, this one I put in garbage. More like I put things in odd places. So afraid one day it's going to be my wedding rings. When SO was in hospital he took off his ring, I wrapped it in kleenex, put in purse. While there I emptied purse of dirty kleenex, dumped his ring in trash, gone forever......he got a new one but never wears it............:( I feel naked if I forget mine. Sometimes I forget earrings, feel funny w/o them too......but getting to not care.

He's leaving Sunday, back late Wed. Of all people my grandgirls about me staying alone<G> So sweet. Sunday their mom and girls are picking me up, going to their house for afternoon, supper. Kim's calling every day, have to explain to her if I don't answer phone, I'm sleeping day away which SO already is used to.

Someone wants to change the smiley faces back to old ones.....think these are kinda cute, for a change; now if I could use them that would be even better.

We got a new laptop, just sitting here, no one really inclined to put it together.....plus have to figure out how to get excel over to the new one. This puter has been giving us trouble. Need lots of cord so I can sit in bed, maybe, 'talk' from there<G> Won't get hooked up til after SO gets back from trip, that weekend, maybe.....nobody in a rush for that either. He's never in rush for haircut, think it's been since xmas.......of course, business trip, hair cut Sat<G> Even talked him into slight comb over for his bald spot at top of head <G>LOL

Take care all, talk again soon!! hugs, kat

Kat it is good to see you found your way back. We just need a few more to find their way here and it will feel like home again. Are you excited about the start of football season? I have already started watching the preseason games. You got the smiley face working and it will just take some time to adjust to the changes but many of the things are the same.

Tonight is our first night as empty nesters. Both of us are having a bad night as our sleep has been messed up. I really want to get back on a schedule again. Tyrel is set up in his room and spending his first night at college. He needs to find a couple of friends and start enjoying college life. Right now he has a room to himself but he is assigned a roommate but he hasn't shown up yet. It will really feel different around here as I will have the house alone to myself until Penny comes home. I will be spending the next week getting my wood shop set up. I have some limits because the kids stuff is still here until they finally close on their house. I will be able to get my tools in the room and get most of it set up. Sleep well everyone and I hope to be asleep soon.

Hi Mark, took me a bit of getting used to the 'front page' of BT.....only one smiley worked on me note; they're not working today either, but the 'more' page did come up. Yesterday no 'errors' on each page, today they're back. Just some minor things they have to work on. One thing I do keep suggesting (was hoping to see it in the revamp) was putting short description on first page of what some disorders are. Some really strange names; just have to google.:) Do miss my smileys<G>LOL

So far not totally into FB but sure I'll get there. See Brigitte got hers up and working. Blame it on puter. :)

Sounds like you've been feeling pretty good Mark; glad to hear that...excpt for sleeping. I'm trying to be lazy, not hard to do<G>, so I don't overdo. Altho carried a 24 case soda in house, then 40lb box litter to the bathroom. Sunday daughter picking me up, to her house.

Is it strange having Tyrel gone? Or was he not home much to begin with.... hope you get things set up the way you want so you can do your projects.

As I look down at other posts, they could use darker lines or sumptin' to separate posts better....just me? Even have glasses on. like they all run together. I'll get used to it......just great BT up/runnin' again.

Hope all having great weekend....partly cloudy here and 76, not much wind....beautiful!! take care, love, kat

Joe, it is good to see you visiting the room. I am getting used to the new look and like the rest of you I am a new member even though I have been here since 1998. Stop by any time and sit for a while if you want. Maybe we can swap some tales and listen to the others as they tell their stories.

Kat, sorry to hear about the two big strokes. It is no wonder why you slept so long and I know the coma sleep as I had two days like that this week. You are going to have to put beepers on everything so when you misplace them you just beep it and follow the sound. I try and do things the same way each times as I would be missing a few things myself.

We have been have a good day here on our first empty nest day. I have been on the phone and emailing Tyrel as it is dawning on him what it is to be a poor college student like his dad was. He thinks he won't have enough money but when housing is paid and you have a meal ticket you can live cheap if you want. He just needs to park the truck and walk around campus. Maybe he will push for more scholarships next year like we tried to encourage him to do. I hope he reconsiders the Air Force ROTC as it will give him a lot more money.

Glad I re-checked the forum. The first time I visited earlier this week, I couldn't find the spinal forums. I'm facing the possibility of another surgery let alone the possibility of the 5th surgery in a year. For years, I thought all my t-spine pain was back related but it turns out the gallbladder sends pain to the same area. The area is problematic on it's own without the gallbladder contributing to the party . . . They running another lab test to rule out another disorder which has far worse health conseqences/implications than dealing without a gallbladder. It really seems strange to hope for surgery.

newcervie, make sure they do test to be sure it is your gall bladder as often our T-spine problem is misdiagnosed as gall bladder. I hope it is just your gall bladder and not T-spine or our liver. I will keep you in my prayers to have the less invasive surgery.

Kat, actually the sleep issue has caused a really bad week for me as I haven't been aware for much of it. The week just disappeared for me. Getting Tyrel off had me sleepwalking in the middle of my day lost sleep which was really hard on me. It is different to have Tyrel gone as he was around a lot. I have found out I can't get my wood shop set up until the kids get moved into their home as they still have a lot of furniture here. I was hoping to move it all in the other room and I may still be able to do that.

I didn't sleep last night but I did get to sleep at around 8:30 last evening until now and I hope to get back to sleep in a little bit to catch up on my sleep. I hope to get to sleep and wake up for church as Emery is going with us since we have nursery duty.
