Default 6-7 week post op lumbar laminectomy & discectomy

Started about amazing.

Ended up right back where I started. Curled up in a ball crying from the excrutiating pain running down the back of my legs.

I see pain dr. again on Monday and finally see the surgeon for my 1ST post-op on Wedsday.

Life sucks once again. Not like I ever really thought it would change.

Gimpy,

Sorry you are in pain again. I know how you feel. I had a discectomy with fusion at L5-S1 in 2004. I too, started off great...now I am in the same terrible pain I was in prior to the surgery. I have been out of work since October and can't find anyone to help me. I have become dependant on narcotics. Not fun!!!
You will be in my prayers...I hope your pain doc will do something to help you and not make you suffer! Good luck!!!

Unhappy Been there too

Gimpy; I am sorry to hear that

your back to where you were. After

going through a painful surgery, you become so releived and grateful to have

pain relief for it to only come back with a vengence it is so disappointing ! !

I went thru 2 back surgeries with good pain results right after surgery then

2 -4weeks later be in more pain and more areas of pain. I hope for you that it

is temporary swelling or something that will ease up for you, but for you to

endure
that pain is wearing both physically and mentally until you find

some type of pain relief .My heartfelt prayers for you, Sandi (#2 on this board)

Oh no, Gimpy! I hope you can get something to help you feel better. I'm also really hoping that this is just a bleep on your recovory radar screen!

Maybe those nerves are irritated from swelling like the above suggested. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have more improvment in the weeks and months to come.

Let us know how you're feeling, and what the docs have to say. Take care.

Gimpy, so sorry to hear you are back in so much pain. I hope it is temporary condition that is caused by the trauma of surgery. That way once the swelling of your nerve and tissue will subside and so will your pain. I hope you aren't stuck in pain again.

I've posted this before, I don't think it's temporary. Daughter learning to drive hits curb, up and over with me in passenger seat going 40 mph. Pain start up was almost immediately and has not released a bit, only gets worse.

I think I'm just going to give up, accept the drugs and just throw in the towel. The disappointments are unbearable anymore.

Gimpy,

I am sorry to hear this as well.

I am very much hoping that it is just irritation of the nerves. I know what it is like to have surgery, then a honeymoon period, and then the pain hits again. I hope your PM can come up with something that will help.

((((( Gimpy )))))

Just as others have said: I, too, am very sorry.

PLEASE, let us know this week what happens at your appointments.

I wish I could be there with you and for you.
