Headed back to the OR on Thursday
I'm overdraining tremendously on this OSV II so I have decided to have a Codman put and start at 200 and go from there, with an anti-siphon as well. Hopefully this will help and I can get my life back.

DYT1 positive dytonia . Dx 1989. Deep Brain Stimuation at Shands at UF in 2003. Hydrocephalus dx in 1/2004 due to an infection and resolved as of 4/4/08. Hydrocephalus returned and shunted 7/9/09 with OSV II,revised 8/5/09. So many CT scans I should GLOW

surgeons theory, i am very pressure sensitive. slightest increase i get sick, slightest decrease i get sick. if i am still overdraining on the programmable, not sure what we will do then. but the codman will work for me this time :-)
this will be my 3rd op since 7/9 and my 20th since jan 2003. :-(

I discovered I had Hydro at age 50 when it apparently decompensated, was shunted 8 months later. I was told I probably wouldn't be able to tolerate a shunt having had enlarged ventricles for so many years. I seem to have to alternate between the top 2 Strata settings.
