Smile New, with disability questions

Hello everyone. Found you while searching the web for some answers!! I had my disability hearing on September 23 of this year. I got a bench approval. Recieved my letter of Fully Favorable on Friday. The usual big questions are.......

The judge put me as disabled as of December 1, 06', so does that mean that minus the 5 month waiting period that I will recieve 16 months back pay? Of course minus the attorney fee.

How long till I recieve the benefit letter?

How long till the regular monthly benefits start?

I think from what I have read from the back posts that the back pay time line is anyones guess!!!!

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this and respond.

Teri, from PA

Thanks for your reply! Seems like you have been waiting a long time for your back pay! It is crazy isn't it!!!

May I ask one more question??

My son was 17 when I applied. Then went to college for 1 year. On my last application it stated his name as a dependant. Will he be entitled to back pay too? AND if he would need to fill out paperwork for this how can he when he is leaving in a week for Marine boot camp?

Thanks again!!!

Depends on how long he had been 17 when you filed...You have to minus the 6 months as well..As far as him going to school I don't know if he had to live at home as well...Call your Local SS office they should be able to tell you...But I'm sure someone knows the answer here and will answer at somepoint..
